Position Summary
Position available for NYS Licensed clinicians interested in delivering evidence-based interventions to older adults at senior centers and conducting outreach activities to help destigmatize mental health in older age, such as community talks and mental health engagement groups. Position is full-time with Weill Cornell benefits, with locations available in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
Our TRIO program seeks to bring mental health services to older adults at senior centers. Clinicians carry out outreach activities, such as lectures and health information groups, engage senior center members, and deliver 4-6 billable psychotherapy sessions per day. We document our services in the NYC Dept. for the Aging STARS system, REDCap, and Weill Cornell’s EMR system (EPIC).
Job Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive clinical assessments; short-term individual and family counseling; and crisis intervention where indicated. Provides longer-term treatment when necessary in selected cases.
- Maintains communication with referring community staff.
- Provides feedback to client and makes referrals to community based services.
- Attends and participates in community meetings as needed.
- Implements therapeutic interventions and develops treatment plans, goals and objectives based on initial and ongoing assessments.
- Develops and leads ongoing support groups and workshops for employees on special topics.
- Documents services in an electronic medical record and related systems as applicable.
- If applicable, provides clinical diagnostic evaluation using SCID interview.
Education
- Master's Degree in related field
Experience
- Licensed to provide psychotherapy in NYS
- Fluent in Spanish
- Prior experience working with an aging population is preferred
- Tech-savvy
- 1 year of experience post-licensing preferred

- Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Strong verbal, written communications, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional Communication and Influencing Skills: persuasive, credible, and polished communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
Licenses and Certifications
- Social work licensure (LCSW)
