Position Summary

Under direct supervision, is responsible for maintaining a clean environment and providing general assistance during emergencies for the facilities assigned to

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitors and maintains the interiors and exteriors of facilities. Mops and vacuums as necessary. Removes trash, performs general cleaning and cleans sidewalks. Makes sure areas are clear of obstructions. Monitors lighting. Performs snow/ice removal.
  • Identifies and escalates potential problems and areas requiring special cleaning.
  • Operates specialty heavy equipment: burnishing machines, buffers, extraction machines, floor refinishers, pressure washers, leaf blowers and moving equipment.
  • Assists with special moves of heavy items as needed.
  • Provides emergency cleanup services as needed.
  • Assists with the preparation of spaces for special events.
  • Collects recyclable materials.
  • Documents and provides updates on work performed.

Experience

Approximately 1-3 years of experience in maintenance, housekeeping or custodial services

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, verbally and in written form.
