Position Summary
Responsible for a broad array of tasks related to administrating the foundational curriculum for the medical school. Liaises with faculty to ensure all elements of the foundational curriculum are seamlessly presented to students, including the training of proctors and management of internal grading systems. Supervises staff who assist in the management and execution of these processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinates all projects and initiatives related to the foundational curriculum.
- Manages web-based exams for foundational curriculums. Creates annual testing schedule and secures required resources. Arranges for testing of all students requiring accommodations, make-ups, or retakes. Trains institutional proctors. Tracks grading.
- Supervises staff in the management of the foundational curriculum.
- Manages communication to faculty and staff to keep the department moving forward cohesively as policies and processes are updated. Provides training and support regarding these processes as necessary.
- Trains all new curriculum staff and others on required software, systems, and procedures. Coordinates tech support and space scheduling for foundational sessions.
- Manages internal faculty committees as the foundational curriculum is collaboratively assessed and updated.
- Communicates with students and manages student assessments of the curriculum. Assists with compliance issues.
- Assists with sessions within the Clinical Skills Center, if needed.
- Research and report on foundational curricular activities. Collects and reports data related to multiple LCME standards and progress reports.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Master's Degree preferred
Experience
Approximately 3 years of related experience in administrative work, preferably in an education setting working with faculty, students, and curriculum.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to handle sensitive academic information with discretion.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient with computers including MS Word, MS Excel.
