Position Summary

The Web Operations and Support Specialist is responsible for managing daily operations and providing technical support for websites, ensuring their reliability and optimal performance. This role serves as a crucial liaison between development teams, IT infrastructure, and content creators. The ideal candidate is proficient in managing web environments, troubleshooting complex issues, supporting ancillary web technologies (e.g., Qualtrics, Localist, Mixpanel), and managing ticket escalations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations for web platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Monitor web systems and collaborate with IT and development teams to resolve incidents.
  • Notify service teams of software updates, security patches, and bug fixes related to websites and infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to track uptime and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues associated with websites hosted on content management systems, platforms, and integrations.
  • Document procedures, create workflows, and train team members on web operations.
  • Support requests for access to supported technologies by service teams for internal teams and their clients.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field

Experience

  • Equivalent practical experience in supporting web environments and related tools may substitute for a formal degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in web operations, support, or IT systems management.
  • Experience with web monitoring tools (New Relic, Google Analytics, Mixpanel) and IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress) and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with web hosting platforms, CDN configurations, and DNS management.
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying and troubleshooting web issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure.

    Working Conditions/Physical Demands

    • Position requires working in an office environment with minimal physical discomforts, such as dust, dirt, or noise. A hybrid work arrangement is possible.
    • Availability for off-hours and weekend work for go-lives, testing, and emergencies, as well as light travel between office locations, primarily within NYC.
    • Occasional travel to Ithaca, Doha, and other partner locations may be required. Some interactions with clinical staff in typical patient care areas may occur, though direct patient exposure is not expected.
