Position Summary

The position provides operational support and coordinates activities for the Research Compliance Office (RCO).

Job Responsibilities

  • Updates and maintains protocol documents, forms, and reports of the Research Compliance Office for submission to compliance committees and agencies.
  • Undertakes scheduling, logistics, and coordination of animal facility inspections to support the review and approval process by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biohazard Committee (IBC), etc.
  • Assists employees and researchers in completing medical screening requirements pertaining to the Occupational Health Program.
  • Carries out monthly validation and follows up with staff, students, and research participants to ensure the Conflict-of-Interest Survey is completed within the set timeframes.
  • Maintains the training material and tracks the status of all mandatory and elective training to ensure they are completed by all the research participants within the set timeframes.
  • Supports in activities related to the monitoring and reporting of Conflict-of-Interest.
  • Regularly updates the Research Professional Insurance Liability list.
  • Coordinates the preparation and dissemination of communications relating to the Research Compliance Office.
  • Schedules meetings, prepares agendas and records the minutes of the meetings taking appropriate action as required.
  • Updates and maintains electronic files and records of all current, closed, or terminated RCO projects.
  • Initiates and tracks purchase requisitions in the system ensuring the availability of adequate materials and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Basic or Applied Life Sciences with 4-5 years of related experience.
  • Prior experience in research or healthcare setup is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of regulations related to Research compliance, integrity, and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc
  • Customer-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar was established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar Foundation (QF).
