Position Summary
The position is responsible for providing project management expertise in areas of facility management from inception to delivery by defining the project scope, timelines, identifying associated risks, providing updates and acting as a key liaison between stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages a diverse range of projects—from small and mid-sized to large-scale—ensuring each meets its unique complexity and scope requirements.
- Regularly updates facilities leadership on project progress and incorporates changes based on guidance.
- Regularly develop and provide comprehensive progress reports including project’s key performance metrics.
- Manage the complete project lifecycle from conception and design through execution, handover, and post-project evaluation.
- Collaborate independently and as part of a cross-functional team with internal stakeholders while leading the selection process for consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop detailed design briefs for WCM-Q stakeholders by integrating input from various WCMQ and QF project departments and providing technical expertise to define project outcomes.
- Work closely with the QF Capital Project Division to ensure efficient and effective project execution as per the approved project baseline.
- Conduct project kick-off meetings with project team to review schedules, method statements, risk assessments, and ensure all required permits are in place.
- Arrange follow-up meetings with the project team to monitor progress against plans and milestones.
- Supervise on-site conditions, facilitate and resolve site related issues on priority basis to ensure uninterrupted work. Coordinate logistical arrangements to support smooth project execution.
- Negotiate project terms and change requests while mitigating risks to WCM-Q operations, costs, safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Assess project variances, gather performance metrics, and implement adjustments to maintain alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and frameworks for FHSS projects, including areas related to soft/hard services, environmental considerations, safety, and security.
- Lead project closure by coordinating the handover from the project team to operations, facilitating user occupancy, and ensuring the completion of project snags.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, facilities management, general environment health and safety with 7 – 8 years of relevant experience.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner) is required.
- Previous experience in research, scientific or healthcare setup is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to apply project management methodologies and administration tools.
- Good working knowledge with drafting tools such Audesk, Autocad.
- Demonstrates proficiency in applying problem-solving methodologies to diagnose issues, develop solutions, and design testing procedures for resource validation.
- Able to read and interpret project documents such as project drawings, submittals , proposals and contracts.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and judgement to make sound business decisions.
- Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize in a challenging environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence stakeholders.
- Ability to participate as a team member and work independently, under limited supervision.
- Proficient with MS Office suite of products, including project management tools.
